We recently learned that a Finnish ICT ngo is coming to Dar in March to give ITIL training for IET (Institution of Engineers Tanzania) members. The training will be open to others as well so we were thinking of offering the innovation space as a training venue if some of you are interested.
If you’re not familiar with ITIL, it stands for The Information Technology Infrastructure Library and it is a set of good practices for IT service management that focuses on aligning IT services with the needs of business. See the rest of the long explanation from Wikipedia. Here is a short video from YouTube that maybe explains it better:
So what do you think about this possibility? Is ITIL relevant here in Tanzania or not? If you’re interested, we’ll go ahead with the practical arrangements, if not, we’ll leave it as is.
Update 27.2.2012: The course will be free of charge and will take place during March 12th, 13th, 15th and 16th during 9am-4pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday). Here’s a draft description of the course, more detailed program coming soon.
