Sanitation Hackathon starts tomorrow!

We are almost there! Tomorrow morning at 10am the Sanitation Hackathon will be officially kicked off at the Innovation Space at COSTECH! Over 100 people – developers, journalists, mappers, sanitations experts and others – are coming to solve burning problems in sanitation issues by new kind of co-creation and problem-solving!

Last weekend some partipants already took part in the field trips to Rufiji and Tandale to look at the issues in real settings they are set out to solve. Have a look at this awesome video by Helena to see what happened on the field trip:

Wednesday this week 25 most eager participants met at KINU Innovation Hub and started to brainstorm first ideas and solutions for the problem statements, and formed the first three teams, getting a head start for the hackathon!

But the real deal, the main hackathon event, starts tomorrow morning, Saturday, at 9am with doors opening and registrations (event is fully booked), and it will finish on Sunday around 5pm. Presentations on solutions start around 1.30pm on Sunday if case you want to come and listen in.

All other Innovation Space users; please note the space is dedicated for participants of the hackathon. If there’s room, you can use the Innovation Space, but you might be expected to contribute as well, or make room for the participants… 😉
