As part of TANZICT’s Tanzania Innovation Program, the TaFinn Knowledge Exchange -program supports knowledge exchange trips for Tanzanian and Finnish academics, key stakeholders, business incubators and -communities and ICT innovators.
TANZICT is opening a Call for Applications for Tanzanian organizations for a knowledge exchange and partnership-creation trip between Tanzanian and Finnish organizations in the entrepreneurship sector. The goal of the trip is to initiate partnerships and collaboration between Finnish and Tanzanian organizations focused on entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship education. Universities, pre-incubators, incubators, entrepreneurship accelerators, tech hubs etc. are expected to participate to the trip.
The participants should aim to use the contacts and lessons from the Finnish organizations to implement new or improved processes in their own organizations. The primary emphasis is organizations already working with current or aspiring entrepreneurs, and secondary group is organizations planning to do so in the very near future.
TANZICT will organize a tour of relevant organizations in Finland. It is possible that different participants visit different organizations if the interests vary a lot. The participants can also organize their own meetings for part of the time, provided they get approval of that beforehand from the CTA.
Maximum of 10 participants will be approved for the trip and maximum of 2 participants are approved from one organization. The Call for Applications is open to staff of all Tanzanian Universities, pre-incubators, incubators, entrepreneurship accelerators, tech hubs etc., but preference will be given to existing partners of TANZICT and to those who can clearly articulate the desired areas of collaboration and interests or identify most potential partners from Finland in their application.
– Established partnerships will create a basis for longer co-operations and network building. Partnerships will also speed up the capacity building and introduce variety of new methods to Tanzanian participants.
– Stronger collaboration links between Tanzania and Finland in entrepreneurship, learning-by-doing approach, innovation and entrepreneurial networks.
The trip is tentatively scheduled for 15-23 March 2014. Call for Applications closes on February 14th 2014.
TaFinn will cover all acceptable travel expenses for all participants according to the Government of Finland Travel Regulations. TANZICT will organize the flights, hotels etc. All travel will be in Economy class. Travelers will be responsible for making sure they have a valid passport, travel insurance and for personally applying for a VISA from the Embassy of Finland in Dar es Salaam. More detailed conditions will be communicated to the selected travelers
