East Africa CodeFest Team visits Buni

On 24th and 25th April, 2014, the organizing team of the East Africa CodeFest from Kenya they will be at Buni. The purpose of their visit is to expose community members to the East Africa CodeFest as well as givinbunihubg them overview of Ruby on Rails. The training will be taking place from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm East African Time at the smaller side of the Buni Hub, COSTECH building ground floor, Sayansi, Kijitonyama.

The event is free for anyone interested to attend and work on real time projects using Ruby on Rails. The organizers promised to expose the attendees to the open source projects related to the topics.

Contents of the training

Introduction to static web pages and ruby, HTML, CSS, the terminal, and Ruby.

Introduction to web servers and databases. (First Web Application)

Introduction to rails and MVC. (Architecture of Rails and Deployment)

Exploration into other features of rails.


Team projects -Short term project that will be implemented as soon as the session ends. The attendees will be   required to work on these projects

Capstone Projects– Long term projects that will be given to attendees of the session to work on after being exposed to Ruby on Rails.
